Who We Are

This website is operated by Mary Keelan Williams, doing business as One Recipe Two Cultures (collectively, “One Recipe Two Cultures,” “we,” “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it and the choices available to you.

Information You Provide

We may collect information you voluntarily provide, including your name, email address and message when you use the Contact Mary form; your email address and consent preferences when you subscribe; account and profile information if you create an account; recipes you save, meal-planning selections and grocery-list information; comments, ratings or other content you submit; and information included in a collaboration or media inquiry.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the website, we and service providers supporting the website may automatically receive limited technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, dates and times of visits, cookie identifiers and interactions with website features. We use this information to operate, secure and improve the website and to understand which recipes and features are useful to visitors.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website may use essential cookies for functions such as sign-in, security, saved preferences and accessibility settings. With any consent required by applicable law, we may also use analytics or other optional technologies. You can control cookies through your browser and any cookie choices presented on the website. Disabling some cookies may affect website features.

How We Use Information

We may use information to provide and maintain the website; respond to messages; deliver newsletters you requested; operate recipe-saving, meal-planning and grocery-list features; prevent fraud, abuse and spam; measure and improve performance; comply with law; and protect our rights and visitors.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyze or operate the website, deliver requested email, or provide other necessary business services. These providers receive information only as reasonably necessary for their services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a business transfer, or with your direction or consent.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Websites

The website may contain affiliate links and links to third-party websites. If you follow one of those links, the third party may collect information under its own privacy policy. We do not control third-party privacy practices. Please review the privacy terms of any service you visit.

Email Choices

You may unsubscribe from promotional recipe emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email. We may still send non-promotional messages needed to administer an account or respond to your request.

Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including legal, security, recordkeeping and dispute-resolution needs. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your Choices and Privacy Requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion or use of personal information. You may also manage certain account information through the website. To submit a privacy question or request, use the Contact Mary form. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

AI Features and User Inputs

When you choose to use an artificial-intelligence feature, the text, photographs or live audio needed to answer your request may be sent securely to OpenAI, our AI service provider. Cooking and refrigerator photographs are processed temporarily by this website, are not added to the WordPress Media Library, and are deleted from the website’s temporary processing area after the request finishes. Our AI requests use OpenAI’s API with response storage disabled where supported. OpenAI may still process or retain data for security, abuse prevention or legal compliance under its own policies.

The microphone remains off until you press Start and grant browser permission. Live audio is sent only while the voice session is active. Ending the session, closing the page or leaving the page stops the website’s microphone stream.

AI can make mistakes. It cannot confirm freshness, allergens, cross-contact, internal temperature, doneness or food safety from a photograph or conversation. Review all detected ingredients, product labels and recipe instructions yourself, and use an appropriate food thermometer when relevant.

To ask a question about AI data use, request available privacy rights or report a concern, use the Contact Mary form.

Children’s Privacy

One Recipe Two Cultures is a general-audience cooking and recipe website intended primarily for adults. The website may include animated or fictional characters for entertainment and may feature recipes, videos, or other content involving alcoholic beverages. These elements are not intended to target or appeal specifically to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect, use, store, or solicit personal information from children under 13. Visitors under 13 may not subscribe to our email communications, create a Recipe Box account, submit ratings, reviews, comments, or otherwise provide personal information through the website.

We may use a neutral age-screening step before allowing access to website features that collect personal information. If a visitor indicates that they are under 13, registration or subscription will not be permitted, and we will not knowingly retain personal information from that visitor.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information promptly.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through this website, please contact us through our Contact page.

Optional Google Analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand page visits, approximate visitor locations, and the websites that refer visitors to us. Google processes device and browser information and uses cookies for these reports. This connection does not intentionally send your name, email address, recipe-box contents, or AI questions to Google, and advertising personalization is disabled.

Analytics stays off until you choose Allow analytics. You can decline or withdraw your permission using Privacy & cookie choices at the bottom of the page. We remember that choice for up to six months. Withdrawing permission stops future collection in this browser; it does not remove data already collected.
