What Is Created by Mary—and What Uses AI
Recipe concepts, ingredients, instructions, testing notes and culinary opinions identified as Mary’s are created and reviewed by Mary Keelan Williams. Recipes specifically generated by Mary’s AI Kitchen are identified as AI-generated and are not tested by Mary unless otherwise stated.
Some photographs, illustrations, videos or other visual elements on this website may be created or enhanced using artificial-intelligence tools. AI-generated assistance is clearly labeled and is not Mary speaking personally.
How Mary’s AI Uses Your Inputs
Mary’s AI Kitchen may use your typed question, a cooking photograph, two refrigerator photographs or live voice audio only when you choose the corresponding feature. The information needed for that request is sent securely to OpenAI, our AI service provider, so the feature can respond.
Cooking and refrigerator photographs are processed temporarily, are not added to the WordPress Media Library, and are deleted from this website’s temporary processing area after the request finishes. AI requests use OpenAI’s API with response storage disabled where supported. OpenAI may still process or retain data for security, abuse prevention or legal compliance under its own policies.
The microphone stays off until you press Start and grant browser permission. Live audio is sent only during the active session. Ending the session, closing the page or leaving the page stops the website’s microphone stream.
Human Review and Safety Boundaries
AI can make mistakes or misunderstand a photograph or question. Mary’s AI Kitchen is designed to use Mary’s published recipe and current cooking step, but its answers are still AI-generated. It cannot confirm freshness, allergens, cross-contact, exact quantities, internal temperature, doneness or food safety from a photograph or conversation.
Review detected ingredients, product labels, recipe instructions and AI suggestions yourself. Use an appropriate food thermometer when safety or doneness is involved. The AI does not provide medical advice or replace a physician, registered dietitian or other qualified professional.
Fairness, Culture and Respect
One Recipe Two Cultures aims to present international food traditions respectfully and to distinguish Mary’s personal travel memories and original interpretations from universal claims about a culture. If wording, imagery or an AI response appears inaccurate, stereotyped or disrespectful, please report it so it can be reviewed.
Questions, Corrections and Concerns
To ask about AI data use, report an unsafe or inaccurate response, request a correction or raise a cultural or accessibility concern, use the Contact Mary form. Mary can disable public AI features while a concern is reviewed.
