This Mango Jalapeño Margarita balances juicy tropical mango with fresh chile heat and bright lime. Blanco tequila keeps the drink crisp, while orange liqueur and agave round out the flavors and a Tajín rim adds a tangy, savory finish.
Mexican
Mango Jalapeño Margarita
After probably my tenth trip to Mexico, I finally surrendered to the fact that I love margaritas so much I never want to live without them. Naturally, that means finding plenty of delicious ways to make them! Mango and jalapeño give this one a little attitude: the first sip brings ripe-fruit sweetness, then the pepper sneaks in with just enough warmth to keep things interesting. Fresh lime keeps it lively, and the Tajín rim makes me want to turn the glass between sips so I don’t miss any of it. It’s a little taste of my affection for Mexico, shaken up for a happy afternoon at home.

Mary’s Introduction
Why These Flavors Work
Sweet mango softens the jalapeño’s heat, while fresh lime provides the acidity a margarita needs. Blanco tequila adds clean agave character, orange liqueur brings citrus depth, and the Tajín rim reinforces the drink’s chile-lime balance.

Storage
Refrigerate any prepared noncarbonated margarita base in a sealed container without ice. Remove jalapeño slices before storage if the heat level is already where you want it.
Reheating
Do not reheat this cocktail. Shake or stir the chilled base before serving because mango may settle, then pour over fresh ice.
Make Ahead
Prepare the mango margarita base ahead and refrigerate it. Control the jalapeño infusion carefully, then rim the glasses and add fresh garnish shortly before serving.
Serving Suggestions
